The Black Cat Sanctuary of Indianapolis is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization
dedicated to giving black cats the safe, loving lives they deserve. Too often overlooked and misunderstood, black cats face lower adoption rates and higher risks in shelters. Our mission is to change that narrative by raising funds to provide food, housing, and essential medical care for black cats in need.

Through community support, donations, and advocacy, we work to ensure every black cat receives proper veterinary attention, a warm place to call home, and the chance to be adopted into a family that appreciates their unique beauty and charm. Beyond direct care, Black Cat Sanctuary also promotes awareness to break the myths and stigmas surrounding black cats, encouraging people to see them as the loyal, affectionate companions they truly are.

Our mission is to create a safe and loving environment for black cats, and to dispel the misconceptions and superstitions associated with them. We believe that every black cat deserves a happy and fulfilling life. We will house as many black cats as possible and then donate to partner organizations to assist with donation fees at their facilities.
Your generous donations help us continue our important work of rescuing and caring for black cats. With your support, we can provide proper medical care, nutritious food, and a comfortable home for these beautiful creatures. Part of your donation will be used to pay the donation fees of area shelters for individuals looking to adopt a black cat.
